IFPI Streaming Integrity Initiative wins distributor pledges

The IFPI Streaming Integrity Initiative (SII) is a new industry commitment to combat streaming fraud and protect artists, songwriters and fans. What signatories pledge

Notably absent from the SII launch list are major DIY/distributor platforms DistroKid, Believe/TuneCore and UnitedMasters (AIMusicpreneur, 14 September 2026; checked 18 September 2026).

Takeaway: Signed distributors will be obliged to vet and remove fraudulent uploads, which should reduce illegitimate plays that inflate payouts; however, payouts and takedowns will still depend on which platforms join the SII and which remain outside its enforcement scope.
